Chinese MedicinalsHerbal Medicine

Chinese herbal medicine has a recorded history of more then 2000 years and women's health has always held a special distinction in classical Chinese Medicine. Chinese Medicinals are largely of plant base but can also include minerals and animal based products. These medicinals are combined together and tailored to each individual's presentation.

This is a technique used for thousands of years in traditional Chinese Medicine where an acupuncture point is stimulated by using the healing properties of a heated herb called mugwort. This is done to warm the body, strengthen the blood, stimulate the flow of qi, and maintain general health. Moxibustion may be used alone or in conjunction with acupuncture to treat:

  • Breech or Mal-position of fetus
  • Menstrual cramps
  • Irregular periods
  • Infertility
  • Back pain
  • Muscle stiffness

  • Headaches
  • Migraines
  • Tendonitis
  • Arthritis
  • Digestive disorders

In electro-acupuncture the acupuncture needles  are attached to a device that generates continuous electric pulses using small clips. This produces a high electric frequency that causes the relaxation of a muscular area as well as the release natural endorphins in the body. Electo-acupuncture is used to compliment and increase the efficacy of an acupuncture treatment.

The time has never been better, and the reasons never greater, for giving traditional medicine its proper place in addressing the many ills that face all our modern – and our traditional – societies.
